Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - 22nd April - Istanbul
'Welcome to Turkey!!' You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel where you will meet your guide and the rest of your group. Overnight Istanbul.
Day 2 - 23rd April - Istanbul (B + L)
Enjoy a guided tour of exotic Istanbul. Visit the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya Museum, Topkapi Palace, Underground Cistern and the Hippodrome. Overnight Istanbul.
Day 3 - 24th April - Istanbul to Gallipoli (B + BBQ)
Depart for the Gallipoli peninsular early morning and tour this now serene site. Visit Lone Pine Australian Memorial and Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial, ANZAC Cove, Johnston's Jolly and the Kaba Tepe Gallipoli Museum. Tonight, enjoy a relaxed BBQ before heading to the site of the ANZAC Dawn Service. Keep warm in your sleeping bag under the stars with the thousands of others waiting for the sun rise. Overnight at Dawn Service.
Day 4 - 25th April - ANZAC Day (BLB)
Awake for the ANZAC Dawn Service and commemorate our fallen forefathers on this special day. Also attend the Australian &/or New Zealand Memorial services. Overnight Kucukkuyu.
Day 5 - 26th April - Gallipoli to Kusadasi (B + D)
Today we head south and on the way we enjoy a guided tour of the ancient city of Pergamum. Overnight Kusadasi.
Day 6 - 27th April - Ephesus (B + D)
Stand in awe at the technology once used on a tour of the ruined ancient city of Ephesus and Selcuk Museum. Also visit the former Greek village of Sirince, famous for it's fruit wines, before a leather goods show. Turkey produces some of the finest leather goods in the world and many are made here before branding in Italy. Overnight Kusadasi.
Day 7 - 28th April - Kusadasi to Pamukkale (B + D)
Today we drive east for the calcium terraces of Pamukkale (cotton castles). We also visit the ruins of Hierapolis, an ancient health spa, just above the calcium terraces. Overnight Pamukkale.
Day 8 - 29th April - Pamukkale to Fethiye (B)
Driving for the Mediterranean coast, we stop at Saklikent Gorge. Here we can tube down the river and explore the awesome canyon. Today we also visit a carpet village and learn how carpets are made by hand, what determines their value and the historical and cultural context in which this folk art has blossomed. Overnight Fethiye.
Day 9 - 30th April - Fethiye Boat Cruise (B + L)
Relax on a leisurely boat cruise around the 12 islands of Fethiye. Overnight Fethiye.
Day 10 -1st May - Fethiye to Antalya (B)
Today we travel to Antalya visiting the ancient Lykian city of Termessos. Overnight Antalya.
Day 11 - 2nd May - Antalya to Cappadocia (B + D)
Leaving the Mediterranean Coast we follow an ancient silk trail for the moonscapes of Cappadocia. En-route we visit the Mevlana Dervish Museum in the religious capital of Turkey, Konya. We also stop at the Caravansary at Sultanhani and the deep blue lake at Obruk. Overnight Cappadocia.
Day 12 - 3rd May Cappadocia (B)
Today we tour the Goreme and Zelve open-air museums, Pasabag and Uchisar castle. Photo opportunities are everywhere so have your cameras ready! Tonight, don't miss the optional Turkish folklore evening featuring folk and belly dancers … a night you won't forget! Overnight Cappadocia.
Day 13 - 4th May Cappadocia (B + D)
After breakfast we visit the beautiful Ilhara Valley and Derinkuyu underground city. Overnight Cappadocia.
Day 14 - 5th May Cappadocia to Istanbul (B)
Today we leave the surreal landscape of Cappadocia and head for exotic Istanbul. In the Nations capital, Ankara, we visit the mausoleum of Turkey's first President, Ataturk, and also the ANZACs and Freedom Museum. Overnight Istanbul.
Day 15 - Friday 6th May Istanbul (B)
After breakfast, we take a morning cruise on the Bosphorous passing by ancient forts and palaces. This afternoon we bid farewell to our new friends.
