Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Istanbul
Arrive in Istanbul where you will be transferred to your hotel, located in the heart of the old city, Sultanahmet. The remainder of the day is yours free to explore.
Day 2: Istanbul to Pamukkale (overnight train) (B)
Tour the city that spans both Europe and Asia, visiting the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace and the Hippodrome. This evening we board an overnight train for the calcium terraces of Pamukkale.
Day 3: Pamukkale to Egridir (B)
Tour the magnificent white calcium formations of Pamukkale, followed by the ancient city of Hierapolis and a dip in the hot springs, which were used in Roman times for their therapuetic powers. We then continue for our overnight stop in the small town of Egridir, overlooking Turkey's 4th largest lake.
Day 4: Egridir to Cappadocia (B+D)
Witness one of the most beautiful sunrises over the lake, followed by breakfast. We then drive along the ancient silk trade route, stopping at Caravanserays Sultanhani and Agzikarahan. We arrive in Cappadocia late afternoon.
Day 5: Cappadocia Tour (B)
This morning we marvel at the surreal landscape of Cappadocia, visiting open air museums, underground cities and hidden valleys. This evening you may wish to partake in a traditional Turkish folklore evening.
Day 6: Cappadocia to Istanbul via Ihlara Valley (B)
Buckle your seat belts as we drive back to Istanbul, via Ihlara Valley. Trek through the natural gorge, taking in ancient churches from the Byzantine era.
Day 7: Tour Finishes (B)
After breakfast, tour concludes.

* 6 nights accommodation in 3 star hotels, plus one night in an overnight sleeper train from Istanbul to Pamukkale (day 2)
